BISHOPS CASTLE CRICKET CLUB

Profiles

Jake 'ant & dec' Cintra
Role: Player

The greatest lover in the Club according to himself, for it is he Jakey 'lovegun' Cintra, still waiting for the return of his beloved watch after the 'goings on' at the Charles Cotton with his afterhours 'floor' show, with Minor, Bonnie, Slug & Fyfee trying to get some sleep

The boy Cintra enjoyed a solid 2011 Season, also returning his footballing loyalties back to BC after journeying around the Shropshire football scene with spells at Shawbury United, Wem Town & Meole Brace amongst others, and also getting up early on a Sunday morning to turn out for Norbury in the Shrewsbury Sunday League.

Now also a respectably Married man.

Paul Cottrell
Role: Player

Paul was a new recruit to the club in 2010 and in 2012 he took on the Captaincy of the 2nd XI for two years. He is a consistent slower bowler and sometimes opening batsman for the 2nd XI. He is also good with coaching and encouraging the younger players... a welcome addition to the ranks of the club!

Rhys 'dave' Davies
Role: Membership Secretary

Settled well into his opening batsman role over the last couple of seasons. His football playing days are apparently behind him so comforts himself supporting Liverpool FC.

Lee Davies

'Radar' for it is he, had successful 2008/9 season in the Spar Mid Wales League with Berriew finishing 2nd and gaining promotion to the Cymru Alliance, has yet to don the whites in the 2009 or 2010 Seasons.

Hopefully that will be rectified soon, as his subtle approach to life is always a joy to behold !!

Rob Davies

The well renowned Championship fisherman turned out on a couple of occasions in 2005 after a couple of years absence, recently married, now working locally.

Will Davis

Young Will once had a successful season, resulting in a regular 1st XI spot, and regularly opening the bowling on Saturday & Sunday, still remembered for his part in the infamous 'Brampton Bryan' substitute fielder incident, then spent time helping his Mum with her rose garden... and now that he is married, will he ever play again?

Ian Dudley

Martyn Ellis
Role: Tourist

Rhys Evans

Rhys is a young player coming through our youth training scheme. He shows promise as a batsman (though he suffers from a desire to hit every ball) and can bowl and field too!  Made a few appearances in 2011..

Richard 'launched' Fifield
Role: Building Maintenance

Richie finished top run scorer again !! in 2008, had another good season off the field as well, with the addition of young Adam to the clan. This picture was taken sometime in the 80's!!

As recorded elsewhere, Richie has now become the leading run scorer in the Clubs history, having past the 8632 recorded run total of long time member and Club Captain S.J. (Sid) Cadwallader which had stood since 1970.
